California vote

I wasn’t going to go into political issues on this blog. I really don’t need people knowing whether I plan to vote for President Obama or Gov. Romney. Here in Indiana, we will elect a new governor and U.S. senator.

In California, they’re voting on something much more important, and that’s whether genetically modified foods should be labeled. If Californians vote yes on Prop 37, it will probably result in GMO foods sold all across the country being labeled. Yes, I want to know what’s in my food.

John Robbins, author of No Happy Cows, weighs in here.

Mark Bittman of the New York Times, weighs in here.

And Danny DeVito and some of his friends weigh in here.

If I lived in California, I’d be voting “yes,” and if you live in California or know someone who does, I’d encourage you to vote “yes.”
