Oatmeal

On Monday, our local newspaper published an Op-Ed column touting the virtues of McDonald’s. The newspaper does not have publishing rights to publish the column online, so I did a Yahoo search, hoping to find it. Instead I found this.

Mark Bittman of the New York Times takes McDonald’s to task for ruining oatmeal, giving it more calories than a hamburger.

I eat oatmeal almost every day. It’s inexpensive and easy to make. Put some water on the stove top, pour in some rolled oats and let it come to a boil, stir and, voila!, oatmeal. Add some fresh fruit (I like bananas and blueberries), maybe some chia seeds or flax seed meal, and you have breakfast. Doesn’t get easier than that.
